New Delhi: After almost a week of the UP Government’s recommendations for a CBI probe in Hathras alleged gangrape and murder case, the Centre on Saturday issued a notification in this regard.
According to a highly placed source, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued notification and directed the CBI to take over this sensational case.
“The CBI will register a formal FIR tomorrow or day after tomorrow and start an investigation immediately into the alleged gangrape and murder of the 19-year-old Dalit girl in UP’s Hathras,” a CBI source claims to add that a probe team would be visiting the crime scene along with forensic experts.

The state government faced intense criticism after the alleged gangrape and murder case. The Yogi government then recommended a CBI probe in this case. The government has also submitted to Supreme Court that it was in favor of free and independent investigation by the Central agency.
