New Delhi: The number of Lawmakers from the ruling BJP with COVID positive is increasing day by day. Now, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Nitin Gadkari is in the queue.
Mr. Gadkari himself on Wednesday announced that he has tested positive for Novel Coronavirus, and has kept himself in isolation.
Announcing the news on micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr. Gadkari said, “Yesterday, I was feeling weak and consulted my Doctor. During my check-up, I have been tested COVID 19 positive. I am at present doing well with the blessings and good wishes of all. I have isolated myself.”
In the second tweet, he said, “I request everyone who has come in my contact to be careful and follow the protocol. Stay safe.”

It is to be mentioned here, a total of 18 Lok Sabha Members of Parliament (MPs) had tested positive for COVID-19 after they went through the test mandatory for attending the truncated monsoon session.
Among the infected, 13 were from Bharatiya Janata Party, two from Yuvajana Sramika Rythu (YSR) Congress Party while one each from Shiv Sena, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP).
The members who earlier tested positive from the BJP were Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, Rodmal Nagar, Satya Pal Singh, Dr. Ram Shankar Katheria, Prataprao Patil, Pradan Barua, Bidyut Baran Mahato, Janardan Singh Sigriwal, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Sukanta Majumdar, Sukhbir Singh Jaunpuria, Anant Kumar Hegde.
Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah had also tested positive and was hospitalized in AIIMS. After treatment there, he was discharged from the premier hospital of the country. But a few days back, he again went to the hospital after having some complications and is still there.
