Myanmar once known as Burma during colonial times is perhaps the most controversial country in the global arena. As the conflicts in its various fields like politics, military, economy and its own internal matters which are necessary for its development and dominance in the global order.

As we all know it is not new the country remains in the limelight of international watchdogs like ASEAN, UNITED NATIONS, IBRD [REGARDING FINANCIAL INSTABILITY], IMF, WORLD BANK ETC. The previous history of the country was marred by monumental mismanagement, disastrous monetary as well as fiscal shocks, and failed administration.

Many leaders, diplomats, administrators, and global peacekeepers tried very hard to establish an accountable, reasonable, and development-friendly administration. Mass agitations, civilian distress, and communal clashes are the characteristics of this country.

Why Myanmar burning in the aggression of the civilians

Myanmar showed momentum after the establishment of a new administration in 2017 as it’s controlled the unstable public administration, economy by its programs and policies. But with the changing times and the internal clashes poverty, suppression of dissent, exploitation of the vulnerable communities and poor people are the main reasons for the current scenario.

Conflict of opinions at the highest echelons of the country’s administration

There was a conflict of opinions in this country since its independence because of the lackadaisical and failed administration. Populist policies and their failed implementation leading to suppression of the voice of vulnerable communities and leads its exploitation.

  • A wide gap between framing and implementation of policies.
  • Too much pressure to suppress the voice of the common man and marginalized sections of the community.
  • Economic distress, recessions, and no social welfare.
  • Political instability, extraction of natural resources, and exploitation of poor.
  • Only governmental pressures no governance policies.

International conflicts

Myanmar has a long history of border conflicts with its fellow nations and they are making pressures diplomatically on the country which reduces its growth and production efficiency. Myanmar’s foreign relations have been improved since 2012 but it has become more strained and worst with the issue of the Rohingya crisis. It generally maintains warmer relations with Associations of Southeast Nations.

Political issues

LARRY JAGAN SPECIALIST ON MYANMAR ISSUES WITH BBC STATES THAT; The military and its political allies insist the new parliament cannot convene while the issue of elections remains unsolved. All hopes now rest with Ms. Suu Kyi and Min Aung HLIANG. The recent elections are at the Centre of conflict although the ruling National League for democracy won unconvincingly.

There have been so many doubts about the significantly flawed voter lists and militarily spokespersons states that there were so many irregularities and malpractices with elections.

Role of main administrators in Myanmar

Aung San Suu Kyi a global name in establishing peace and solving conflicts, Nobel laureate and former state counselor of Myanmar [equivalent to prime minister], former foreign minister of Myanmar from 2016 to 2021 and she has served as president of the National League for democracy.

She stated that ethnic cleansing is taking place and dismissed international criticisms of her handling of the crisis and blames the international community for widening the gap between Buddhists and Muslims.

At the conference of the international court of justice in 2019, she condemned the charges of genocide and took accountability that if the war crimes will take place by the side of the Myanmar military the jurisdictions will continue by military laws.

MIN AUNG HLAING the main leader of the country addressed the nation and said the country is in power different from past military governments and told people to rely on the facts rather by emotions. He promised that the country will become top in the list of most promising economies and markets.

Impact on the civilians and vulnerable community

Mass agitations are happening in Myanmar with several lakhs of people protested on the roads and the military used their powers to stop people from becoming aggressive. Current situations are like the civil war happening in the country. As people think that there were violations of human rights and their freedom of life. It generally affected the market with local shutdowns, administrative pressures on people, and marginalization of the vulnerable communities.

In my words:

Maintaining peace, social welfare, and dominance in the Asian market should be the main goal of the Myanmar administration as the current scenario has created a deep effect on the economy and public administration. Nowadays with the emerging markets and the global trade, the government of Myanmar should give attention to solve conflicts with the neighbouring countries.

Attention should be on to improve the relations diplomatically with peacekeeping and reducing border conflicts because international relations are always a lopsided view of the government.

The government should focus on the implementation of various programs at the ground level as it will help in increasing the welfare of the people. Last but not least a proper government administration should be the only solution.
